Intermediate Debate - Thursday
Grades 5–8
Build stronger arguments. Think strategically. Debate with purpose.
Intermediate Debate is an in-person weekly class for students who are ready for more structured, strategic debate.
Designed for students progressing from Rising Debate, returning intermediate debaters, and older students new to debate, this class introduces more advanced argumentation, evidence use, rebuttal strategy, and team-based debate.
Students learn how to:
build stronger arguments
support ideas with evidence and examples
analyze topics from multiple perspectives
develop clearer rebuttals
ask stronger questions
work effectively with teammates
adapt arguments based on feedback
Classes include:
topic analysis
case-building
debate drills
team strategy
crossfire-style questioning
full team debate rounds
Intermediate Debate is Edge Up’s advanced classroom debate track. Students strengthen their reasoning, confidence, listening, and rebuttal skills without the added commitment of external league competition.
Debate Showcase
